Honor our Veterans
Governor Kulongoski Encourages Oregonians to honor our Veterans
Governor encourages Oregonians to fly flag proudly to honor those serving and those who have served in
the United States military and Oregon National Guard.
(Salem) – Governor Ted Kulongoski issued the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day.
“I want to encourage all Oregonians to recognize the men and women who have made a commitment to honor, duty
and sacrifice and served this great state and country in our military.
“Veterans Day is a day of celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism,
love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. During this time
we are reminded that all of our veterans have given something of themselves to this country, and some have given all.
“Veterans of all generations have selflessly contributed to the safety and prosperity of this nation.
Whether during times of war or during times of peace, veterans exemplify the best our nation has to offer.
Regardless of how difficult the task or how great the sacrifice, America’s veterans have always stepped
up to the most difficult challenges that this country has faced.
“I encourage all Oregonians to fly the American flag with pride in honor of our men and women who have served
and are serving our nation, and to keep them and their families in our thoughts and prayers this Veterans Day.”
